On January 1, 2012, I decided that THIS would be the year that everything happens for me. This will be the year that I go outside of my comfort zone and reach for dreams that many call far-fetched. One of those dreams is to try out for American Idol. And, being the big dreamer that I am, I have already played it all out in my head. I have envisioned my first audition; stumbling across the stage, looking nervous and rocking their socks off. Then, I would make it to the actual judges where they would be informed that I don't like singing in front of people and then proceed to rock their socks off, as well. After that is the Hollywood rounds. I would triumph the group performances, eliminations by room and finally make it to the top 48. As I ride up the elevator to find out my fate I would be nervous and excited to see where this could all lead me. Steven Tyler would start off by telling me that I don't have much vocal background and that makes them nervous. All 3 judges would have a solemn look on their face until they suddenly perk and shout that I have made the top 24! Now come the live shows! Week, by week, people would get eliminated. But, I would somehow stand strong and make it through each elimination until I was in the top 12. And, we all know that once you make the top 12 you are going on tour during the summer. I would like to say I would win the whole thing, who knows, maybe I will. At the least, I envision myself making it to the top 5. Andrea, you're crazy! This all can't actually happen! The funny thing is, it CAN! I'm not guaranteeing that it will, but it definitely is possible!
I know many of you have never heard me sing. In fact, I can only count on one hand the number of people who have heard me really sing. Sad, but true. It is a serious trust issue that I have and will obviously need to overcome before I audition. Anyways, I've been trying to lay out some select songs that I could work on over the next 6 months so that they can be superb by the time the auditions roll around. So far I have:
"Leave the Pieces" The Wreckers
"Suddenly I See" KT Tunstall
"Walkin' After Midnight" Patsy Cline
"Love Song" Sara Bareilles
"King of Anything" Sara Bareilles
These are all subject to change based on how well I can perfect them. If you have any suggestions for a song to sing please let me know. I'm looking for something in those vocal ranges. Not too high, but something that can still show off my vocals.
Catch ya later!

I won't give up on the world as I see it
DISCLAIMER: I have decided to change my blog again! I will basically be combining my first idea with my second idea. I will write about things that interest me at the moment; movie, tv shows, colors, flowers, whatever. All while trying to go a little deeper in the subject. With that being said, I present to you my first official post.
For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Jason Mraz fan. And, for those of you who do know, I am a huge Jason Mraz fan. Ever since his first album, "Waiting for My Rocket to Come", I have stood by loyally, waiting for anything new to come from this master musician. His two newest singles "I Won't Give Up on Us" and "The World as I see It" are both mixtures between "I'm Yours" and "Life is Wonderful." Both could be described as semi-upbeat pop tunes that focus on love. If you've heard his latest album "We sing. We dance. We steal things." then these recent singles wouldn't come as much of a surprise. The big shocker came from his new EP "Life is Good" that was released in October 2011. When I pressed play I was expected to hear some more of the pop-love songs that he has been known to write in the past few years. However, I was pleasantly surprised to hear something with a reggae undertone. It is always nice to hear something new from artists. To find out that they are capable of developing something different that what they usually do. Jason Mraz has always been one to spice things up. With every new album he would add a new sound to his repertoire. I encourage you to listen to his newest singles and EP to hear the newest sound from Jason Mraz. Everything is available on iTunes or on www.jasonmraz.com
Short and Sweet
Just like me
P.S. This is my first real post so of course it is going to be terrible. I am still trying to find my niche and writing style since I am only used to writing essays for school. It may take awhile for me to get there, but if you could please be patient and continue to read my blog. If you could even give me some suggestions on what to include in my posts! Thanks!

I'm so indecisive
As I laid in bed late last night, I started to map out what I want my future posts to be about. Yes, I know, in my last post I stated that I would be writing about music, TV, or whatever tickled my fancy. Then, I got to thinkin'. Why should I write a typical blog about musicians, movies and TV shows? As many of you know, I've never been one to do anything typical. As I laid there I thought, "Do I really just want to write about how great his/her album is or what my favorite part of last night's episodes was?" No, not in my house! I want to delve deeper into the lives of these celebrities. We listen to them and watch them on a daily basis without even knowing the real person behind their celebrity status. There are at least a handful of actors and musicians that I can name off the top of my head that have created their foundations or are dedicated supporters of those they hold near and dear to their hearts. I would like to go deeper and find out why they chose these things to fight for and what lights that passion to keep that fire burning. We see celebrities all the time who are playing a game show for a charity. They say that is important to them, but why! I'm not knocking them down or trying to demerit their efforts. I just want to know why they are doing what they're doing. Of course, I will still want to write about entertainment accolades. I'm going to try and write about recent albums, movies and shows, but try to incorporate the altruistic side of the actors and musicians we idolize. Maybe this'll help us to find another reason to look up to them. I will try my very, very best to use my resources wisely and not falsify any information. I may even try to set up some interviews if they are able to take time out of their busy schedules...we shall see! And who knows, this idea of mine may fizzle within a day, a week, a month, or never. But for now, this sounds like a great thing to write about! With that being said, I am currently researching for my next post which should hopefully be up within the next day or two.
See ya soon!

Just another conversation with myself
In school, teachers would persistently tell me not to start a paragraph, essay, pretty much anything with a question. However, in this circumstance, I've found it to be the only option.
Who is Andrea Bitner?
How much time do you have?! I am 22 (almost 23) year old woman/lady/girl (I'm not quite sure what to call myself at this point). I have 2 dogs, a rabbit, and a fish. So, I guess I am somewhat of an animal hoarder. I can be an old lady, and old man, a teenager, and an upstanding citizen all in one day! I like running the show, but I also enjoy sitting back, and watching, and learning how others get the same things done. I like to consider myself a comedian, though I'm usually the only one laughing at my jokes. As of now, I am an amateur writer hoping to turn my passion into a career within the next 5 years....hopefully.
Why did I choose to start a blog now?
Great question, Andrea! I have always wanted to be a writer of sort. Growing up I would write in a journal almost everyday (if found they are sure to mortify me). I am a huge English nerd and well known corrector of the language. It is also my dream to become and editor, publisher or even a technical writer. Either way, writing is in my blood. But I guess that didn't really answer the question. Lately, all I've been is working, sleeping, eating and laying around with my dogs. I've decided it is time to do something else to occupy my time. And, what a better way than to exercise my skills for my future career!
What is the blog going to be about?
Basically, what we have here is a hodge-podge of things that I fancy. I will be writing about music, movies, TV shows, hobbies, games, etc. Pretty much anything that I am feeling at the time. My upcoming posts are slated to be about Jason Mraz (who didn't see that one coming), an upcoming film, turning 23, and hopefully some more interesting topics. It is my goal to begin reviewing new movies and records (to the best of my abilities). Granted I am no expert in those fields, but I love music and movies so I figure why not!
Most of you will read this and decide to never read it again. And that's fine! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This is just my newest avenue of expressing my own opinion. It is my hope that my blogs have some impact on your life; good, bad, or indifferent. My future posts should be longer and more informative!
As you can tell, I am an avid fan of exclamation points and parentheses. I really need to improve on that.
